Clinical Application
Designed to achieve controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal to permit safe access to the uterine cavity. Commonly used to prepare the cervix for instrumentation during dilation and curettage, office or operative hysteroscopy, IUD placement/removal, endometrial biopsy, and other gynecologic procedures that require atraumatic cervical dilation. The 9-15 mm range covers moderate dilation needs and allows clinicians to select an appropriate diameter based on patient parity, cervical status, and procedural requirements.
Design & Configuration
The dilator features a smooth, tapered shaft that permits gradual, progressive dilation with minimal tissue shear. An atraumatic, rounded tip facilitates entry into the cervical os and reduces the risk of tearing or snagging. The graduated 9-15 mm profile provides predictable incremental enlargement of the canal, allowing clinicians to perform dilation in controlled steps and judge resistance clinically. An ergonomic working end supports manual control and tactile feedback during passage.
