Clinical Application
This curette is intended for intrauterine use to perform endometrial sampling, removal of retained products of conception, and uterine curettage during diagnostic and therapeutic D&C procedures. The 15.0 mm tip provides a defined contact area for controlled tissue scraping and collection. It may be used in outpatient clinics, operating rooms, and ambulatory surgery centers where manual curettage is indicated, and can be used under direct visualization or adjunctive ultrasound guidance when required.
Design & Configuration
The instrument's 28 cm overall length provides sufficient reach and working length through a speculum and dilated cervix while maintaining clinician control. The Figure 6 tip profile denotes a manufacturer-specific tip geometry designed to offer consistent engagement of the endometrial surface; tip diameter (15.0 mm) influences the sample volume and the area of tissue contact, which clinicians consider when selecting curettes for focal versus more extensive tissue removal. The curette's configuration supports tactile feedback during scraping to assist with controlled debridement.
