Clinical Application
Used to achieve controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal prior to intrauterine procedures. The instrument's 11.0 mm diameter provides a defined dimension for progressive dilation protocols, enabling safe access for hysteroscopy, dilation and curettage, endometrial sampling, or insertion of intrauterine devices. Frequently employed sequentially with smaller and larger dilators to incrementally expand the cervical os while minimizing sudden stretching.
Design & Configuration
The single-ended, tapered cylindrical geometry offers a smooth progressive profile to negotiate the cervical canal. A gently rounded tip facilitates atraumatic entry and guides the instrument through the internal os, while the consistent shaft diameter provides predictable dilation at the measured size. The single-ended format is common in Hegar sets and allows clinicians to select discrete diameters during staged dilation.
Instrument Specifications

Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability, corrosion resistance, and repeated sterilization. The smooth, polished surface reduces friction during insertion and eases cleaning and processing between uses. Designed for reuse and compatible with standard reprocessing workflows for stainless-steel surgical instruments.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
