Clinical Application
Designed for progressive mechanical dilation of the cervical canal to permit safe access to the uterine cavity. Commonly used to facilitate dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy sheath insertion, intrauterine device (IUD) placement or removal, and other procedures that require controlled cervical enlargement. The two closely sized ends (19 mm and 20 mm) provide options for achieving the desired caliber with minimal instrument exchange.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended geometry places two large-caliber, smoothly tapered cylindrical dilators on a single instrument shaft to streamline intraoperative workflow and reduce instrument handling. The gently tapered tips allow sequential, atraumatic dilation while minimizing focal pressure on the cervical tissue. The straight profile and rigid construction provide tactile feedback during advancement so the operator can assess resistance and dilation progression.
Instrument Specifications
- Double-ended Hegar dilator with 19 mm and 20 mm diameters
- Smooth, tapered cylindrical tips for graded dilation
- Straight shaft for direct tactile control
- Intended for mechanical cervical dilation in gynecologic procedures
- Reusable and compatible with standard sterilization methods
Material & Construction
Manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel with a smooth, polished finish to reduce tissue adherence and facilitate cleaning. Rigid construction supports controlled force transmission during dilation. The instrument is designed for repeated use and is compatible with common sterilization processes such as steam autoclaving.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
