Clinical Application
This double-ended Hegar uterine dilator is intended to provide controlled, gradual cervical dilation to allow uterine access in common gynecologic procedures. The 11/12 mm sizing corresponds to a moderate dilation step commonly used during dilation & curettage, hysteroscopy setup, intrauterine device placement, and when gently dilating a stenotic cervical os. Its configuration supports use in both outpatient clinic and operating room settings where reliable, reusable dilation instruments are required.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended design places two adjacent Hegar sizes on a single instrument, reducing instrument exchanges and simplifying procedure setup. Each end features a smooth, slightly tapered cylindrical tip to permit gradual dilation with minimal tissue trauma and reduced snagging. The straight shaft geometry gives tactile feedback and controlled insertion depth during progressive dilation maneuvers.
Instrument Specifications
