Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled mechanical dilation of the cervical canal, this Hegar-style dilator is used to progressively enlarge the cervical os to permit access for uterine instrumentation. Typical applications include dilation prior to dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy, operative hysteroscopic procedures, intrauterine device insertion or removal, and other diagnostic or therapeutic gynecologic interventions requiring atraumatic cervical access.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration offers two sequential sizes on a single instrument to streamline tray setup and reduce instrument exchanges. Each end features a smooth, rounded, graduated cylindrical profile that advances gently through the cervical canal—minimizing focal pressure and tissue trauma. The 1/2 mm increment sizing allows fine control over dilation steps, enabling gradual enlargement when tactile feedback and incremental progression are clinically important.
Instrument Specifications
