Clinical Application
This instrument is intended for mechanical dilation of the cervical os and cervical canal to permit uterine access during common gynecologic procedures. It is used to achieve controlled, incremental dilation prior to curettage, hysteroscopy, intrauterine device placement, or other intrauterine instrumentation. The blunt, rounded profile minimizes focal pressure on the cervix, reducing the risk of laceration when used with standard clinical technique.
Design & Configuration
The tapered geometry provides gradual expansion of the cervical canal, allowing clinicians to dilate in measured steps and maintain tactile feedback. A smooth, rounded tip facilitates atraumatic entry through the cervical os and reduces snagging on mucosal tissue. The Fig.19/20 designation corresponds to the catalog pattern and the supplied diameters (9.5 mm and 10 mm), providing two closely sized options for fine incremental dilation.
