Clinical Application
This Doyen-style vaginal speculum is intended to provide atraumatic retraction and visualization of the vaginal walls and cervix during pelvic examinations and minor gynecologic procedures. Common uses include routine cervical inspection, Pap sampling, colposcopy assistance, IUD placement, and minor office-based interventions where direct, unobstructed access to the cervical os is required.
Design & Configuration
The concave blade geometry creates a broad, gently curved exposure of the vaginal vault, reducing tissue folding and improving line-of-sight to the cervix. The medium (med) size balances sufficient working space for instrumentation with patient comfort for most adult patients. The bivalve configuration provides stable retraction while allowing tactile feedback for the operator during instrument maneuvers.
