Clinical Application
Provides atraumatic exposure of the vaginal canal and cervix for routine pelvic examination, cervical sampling (Pap), colposcopy, and minor gynecologic procedures such as IUD insertion, suture removal, or minor office-based interventions. The blade dimensions are selected to permit visualization and access while minimizing excess tissue retraction.
Design & Configuration
The bivalve, hinged design allows insertion with blades closed and controlled opening to retract vaginal walls for direct visualization. Smooth, rounded blade edges reduce mucosal trauma during placement and manipulation. The 115 x 35 mm blade geometry balances length and width to reach and expose the cervix in many adult patients without excessive lateral distention.
