Clinical Application

This instrument is designed to provide atraumatic retraction of the vaginal walls to allow direct visualization of the cervix and access to the cervix and vaginal vault. It is suitable for routine gynecologic examinations, cervical cytology sampling, IUD placement/removal, colposcopy and minor office procedures where a compact, low-profile speculum is preferred.

Design & Configuration

The Doyen Fig.1 uses two opposing, contoured blades to gently separate the vaginal walls and create a clear working channel to the cervix. The rounded blade geometry reduces focal pressure on mucosa and improves patient comfort during insertion and manipulation. The smaller 55 x 35 mm footprint provides adequate exposure in patients with a narrow introitus or when a less obstructive instrument is desired during office procedures.
