Clinical Application
This instrument is designed to provide secure tissue purchase on uterine leiomyomas during vaginal myomectomy and related gynecologic procedures. The threaded tip is advanced into the substance of the myoma to establish firm purchase for controlled traction, enucleation, and extraction through the vaginal canal. Its 17 cm length and T-handle configuration are selected to optimize reach and leverage in confined vaginal exposures where shorter abdominal-length screws are impractical.
Design & Configuration
The T-handle delivers axial torque and tactile feedback, allowing the surgeon to rotate the screw into fibroid tissue with precision and then apply steady linear traction. A straight, slim shaft profile reduces bulk in the operative field and facilitates manipulation within the vagina. The threaded screw tip is intended to bite into the myoma core, reducing slippage during traction and enabling controlled enucleation and delivery of the specimen.
