Clinical Application
This bivalved speculum is designed to provide atraumatic separation of the vaginal walls to allow direct visualization of the cervix and vaginal mucosa. It is used routinely in outpatient gynecologic examinations, Pap smear collection, colposcopy, placement or removal of intrauterine devices, and other minor diagnostic or therapeutic vaginal procedures where a stable field and hands-free exposure are required.
Design & Configuration
The Swiss Cusco pattern features two smooth opposing blades that open to create a reproducible, self-retaining exposure of the vaginal canal and cervix. The integrated locking mechanism holds the blades in the selected position to free the clinician’s hands for instrumentation, specimen collection, or minor interventions. The 115 mm length combined with a 27 mm blade width offers moderate reach and aperture for general gynecologic use while maintaining patient comfort.
