Clinical Application
The Breisky Speculum 100x35mm is designed to provide controlled visualization and lateral retraction of the vaginal walls to facilitate diagnostic and minor operative gynecologic procedures. It is used for pelvic examinations, direct visualization of the cervix for Pap smear collection and colposcopy, office-based IUD insertion and removal, and other procedures that require stable exposure of the cervix and vaginal vault while maintaining access for instruments and sampling devices.
Design & Configuration
The bivalve configuration separates the vaginal walls laterally to create an open central working channel for direct visualization and instrument passage. The 100x35mm profile combines blade length sufficient to reach the vaginal vault with a 35 mm maximum blade width that provides moderate retraction without excessive tissue tension. This geometry supports stable exposure and straightforward access for speculum-mounted or handheld visualization and procedural tools.
