Clinical Application
This instrument is intended to provide atraumatic exposure of the vaginal walls and introitus during gynecologic, urogynecologic and select obstetric procedures. It is used for visualization and access during examinations, repair of lacerations, episiotomy repair, pelvic reconstructive procedures, and minor operative interventions where controlled retraction of soft tissue is required.
Design & Configuration
The narrow, flat blade profile with a 56 x 13 mm footprint gives a balance of surface contact for even tissue support while minimizing bulk at the introitus. The 18 cm shaft length provides reach into the vaginal canal for improved visualization of deeper structures without excessive leverage on surrounding tissue. The handheld configuration allows the assistant or surgeon to apply precise, directional retraction for one-handed exposure and instrument access.
