Clinical Application
Designed for controlled removal of gallstones and soft biliary debris during cholecystectomy and biliary tract exploration. The blunt scoop tip permits scraping and evacuation of calculi and inspissated bile with reduced risk of sharp mucosal laceration, making it suitable for specimen retrieval from the gallbladder lumen and selective use within the cystic duct or common bile duct during open procedures and ductal exploration.
Design & Configuration
The instrument features a long shaft that provides reach into the gallbladder and biliary tree while keeping the operator's hand clear of the operative field. The blunt, rounded curette tip is configured as a shallow scoop to facilitate controlled scraping and en bloc removal of stones without sharp cutting edges. A rigid shaft maintains tactile feedback and transmission of force for effective excavation in confined spaces.
