Clinical Application
Designed for intraoperative retrieval of biliary calculi, this scoop facilitates controlled removal of stones from the gallbladder and accessible portions of the biliary tree during biliary surgery. Its 15.0 mm bowl is suitable for capturing small-to-medium sized stones and fragments encountered during cholecystectomy, choledocholithotomy, and ductal exploration. The instrument is useful for directed stone extraction through an open incision or limited access sites where a dedicated retrieval scoop is preferred over forceps.
Design & Configuration
The concave bowl geometry concentrates and contains stones for secure retrieval while minimizing manipulation of surrounding tissue. The 32 cm shaft provides extended reach for deeper operative fields or when working through a wound or port, allowing the operator to access the gallbladder lumen and proximal ductal segments without additional exposure. The Fig.5 pattern denotes the specific scoop profile commonly used for atraumatic capture and controlled withdrawal of calculi.
