Clinical Application

Designed for intraoperative retrieval of gallstones and biliary calculi during cholecystectomy, choledocholithotomy, and common bile duct exploration. The small 11.0 mm scoop is suited for capturing single or small groups of stones from the gallbladder or biliary tree and for controlled extraction through an incision or port during open procedures.

Design & Configuration

The Figure 4 Luer–Koerte scoop features a compact, concave scoop head sized to engage and retain stones while minimizing trauma to surrounding mucosa. The 32 cm rigid shaft provides reach into the gallbladder and extrahepatic bile ducts without compromising tactile feedback, allowing the surgeon to maneuver within confined spaces and extract stones with controlled axial force. The long-shaft configuration also facilitates use through incisions or working ports during operative exploration.
