Clinical Application
Designed to retrieve gallstones and loose biliary debris during open cholecystectomy, common bile duct exploration and other biliary procedures. The 34 cm length provides the reach needed to access deep recesses of the gallbladder fossa and proximal bile ducts through standard abdominal incisions. The scoop bowls capture discrete stones and particulate material for removal without excessive manipulation of surrounding tissue.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended (D/E) format provides two scoop profiles in one instrument, allowing the operator to select a larger or smaller bowl without changing instruments. The elongated shaft length facilitates access to deeper operative fields while maintaining a slim working profile to minimize incision extension. Scoop-shaped tips are formed to cradle stones securely while enabling controlled evacuation. These geometric features help reduce the need for repeated instrument exchanges and limit direct contact with the ductal mucosa during retrieval.
