Clinical Application
Designed to facilitate atraumatic retrieval of calculi from the gallbladder and biliary tract during open biliary surgery. Commonly used in open cholecystectomy and choledocholithotomy for capturing and extracting single or multiple stones from the gallbladder lumen, cystic duct stump, or exposed common bile duct under direct vision.
Design & Configuration
The elongated 30 cm shaft provides reach into the gallbladder and biliary tree while maintaining surgeon control in confined operative fields. The spoon-shaped bowl concentrates and contains stones during extraction and reduces the need for repeated passes, lowering trauma to mucosa. A smooth transitional profile between shaft and scoop minimizes snagging on tissue and allows tactile feedback for controlled engagement and release of calculi.
