Clinical Application

Designed for atraumatic removal of gallstones and small calculi during biliary procedures. The scoop is employed in open cholecystectomy and common bile duct exploration to retrieve loose stones from the gallbladder lumen or choledochal cavity under direct vision. Its spoon-shaped distal end enables capture and controlled extraction of calculi while minimizing contact with surrounding mucosa and biliary epithelium.

Design & Configuration

The long 30 cm shaft provides reach into the gallbladder fundus and deeper segments of the biliary tree without the need for excessive retraction. A single-ended scoop geometry concentrates the retrieval surface into a shallow cup, allowing stones to be lifted and removed with tactile feedback. The slim profile of the shaft facilitates insertion through a standard incision and permits manipulation within the gallbladder or through a choledochotomy while reducing soft-tissue displacement.
