Clinical Application
Designed for the controlled retrieval of gallstones and small calculi encountered during biliary surgery. The instrument is used to scoop stones from the gallbladder lumen, cystic duct or exposed portions of the common bile duct during open cholecystectomy and biliary exploration. Its concave bowl captures and retains stones for extraction with minimal fragmentation, reducing the need for repeated manipulation in the operative field.
Design & Configuration
The long 30 cm shaft provides extended reach into the abdominal cavity while maintaining tactile control at the handle. The distal concave scoop geometry allows the surgeon to encapsulate and lift stones with a single, controlled motion. A low‑profile bowl minimizes surrounding tissue contact during insertion and retrieval, helping to reduce traction on the gallbladder wall and adjacent structures.
