Clinical Application
This instrument is intended for intraoperative biliary tract work during cholecystectomy and common bile duct exploration. The probe is used to locate and palpate intraductal gallstones, probe the cystic duct and common bile duct, assist placement of cholangiography catheters, and provide a tactile guide for stone extraction maneuvers. Its length supports access to deeper ductal segments without frequent instrument exchange.
Design & Configuration
The slender, elongated shaft and atraumatic rounded tip allow controlled, low-profile passage within the cystic and common bile ducts while minimizing risk of mucosal injury or perforation. The 28 cm overall length provides additional reach for abdominal and biliary exposure, helping surgeons probe ductal anatomy and confirm stone location before advancing extraction devices or performing intraoperative cholangiography.
