Clinical Application
This precision goniometer is intended to provide quick, reproducible angular measurements in the operating room and clinic. Typical uses include intraoperative assessment of osteotomy correction and alignment, verification of joint and bone angles during fracture fixation, positioning of implants and plates, tendon-transfer angle confirmation, and perioperative range-of-motion checks in hand, wrist, elbow and small-bone procedures. The device facilitates communication of target angles between surgeon and assistant and can reduce reliance on repeated radiography for routine angular checks.
Design & Configuration
The instrument uses a two-arm, hinged protractor configuration with a clearly graduated degree scale so the operative angle can be set, read and transferred directly at the surgical site. The low-profile arms and hinged geometry permit close apposition to bone and soft-tissue surfaces while maintaining a visible reference for the surgeon. The adjustable hinge allows fine incremental positioning and stable angle retention during measurement and documentation.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Surgical goniometer (hinged two-arm protractor)
- Pattern / model: Moeltgen
- Typical surgical use: Intraoperative and perioperative angular measurement for orthopedics, hand and reconstructive procedures

Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel for corrosion resistance and durability. The solid metal construction supports repeated sterilization cycles and provides tactile feedback when positioning on bone or soft tissue. The instrument is designed for reuse and is compatible with standard steam autoclave sterilization protocols.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
