Clinical Application
This curette is designed for controlled curettage of soft tissue: removal of epidermal and dermal lesions, shave biopsy sampling, debridement of granulation tissue, and scraping of fibrotic or necrotic tissue in dermatology and otolaryngology procedures. The Fig.2 scoop size is intended for small-to-moderate lesion beds where precise tissue removal and tactile feedback are required.
Design & Configuration
The spoon-shaped (scoop) tip provides a concave cutting edge that facilitates uniform scraping and tissue capture during curettage. A rigid, 14 cm shaft length offers adequate working distance for surface and shallow cavity access while preserving manual control and tactile sensation. The Fig.2 tip geometry balances surface area and precision, allowing clinicians to remove tissue layers in a controlled, stepwise fashion with minimal lateral trauma.
