Clinical Application

Designed to atraumatically dilate small-to-moderate caliber vessels and introducer tracts, this dilator facilitates passage of catheters, sheaths, guidewires and graft material during peripheral and central vascular procedures. Common uses include femoral and brachial access dilation, sequential vessel expansion during bypass or endarterectomy, and preparing anastomotic sites or conduit lumens to receive prosthetic components.

Design & Configuration

The straight, single-ended tapered shaft provides controlled, progressive dilation from the tip toward the shaft to minimize sudden diameter changes and reduce intimal trauma. A 3.0 mm atraumatic tapered tip allows precise engagement with the vessel lumen or tract; the 19 cm length affords reach into common access points without excessive proximal bulk, making it suitable for both superficial and moderately deep vascular targets. The smooth shaft profile and gradual taper aid in tracking over wires and negotiating bends with minimal resistance.
