Clinical Application
Designed for temporary occlusion and stabilization of blood vessels during anastomosis, the clamp provides atraumatic control of arterial and venous segments while suturing. It is suitable for procedures in vascular surgery, cardiovascular anastomoses, AV fistula creation, and other operations requiring secure, atraumatic vessel control without compressive crushing injury to the intima.
Design & Configuration
The instrument’s DeBakey-style longitudinal serrations distribute clamping forces along the vessel wall to minimize endothelial trauma while maintaining a secure grip. A ratcheting handle and box-lock mechanism allow the surgeon to apply and maintain a controlled degree of occlusion, freeing an assistant and facilitating fine suture work. The 18 cm length offers a balance of reach and control for access into thoracic, mediastinal, or deeper peripheral operative fields without excessive bulk at the working end.
