Clinical Application

Provides controlled temporary occlusion of the ascending and descending aorta for procedures that require proximal vascular control, including open cardiac procedures, aortic aneurysm repair, vascular reconstruction and selective hemostasis during thoracic and abdominal vascular surgery. The atraumatic jaw profile minimizes focal intimal compression, making it appropriate for use on diseased or fragile aortic tissue where preservation of the vessel surface is important prior to definitive repair or anastomosis.

Design & Configuration

The 20 cm length balances reach and surgeon control for mediastinal and retroperitoneal exposure. Atraumatic DeBakey-style jaws distribute clamping force along the vessel wall to reduce shear and point-loading on the intima. A standard ratchet/locking mechanism permits secure, incremental occlusion while allowing rapid release when required. The overall geometry facilitates single-handed placement and precise positioning in deep or confined operative fields.

Instrument Specifications
