Clinical Application
These DeBakey-style atraumatic forceps are intended for atraumatic handling of delicate tissues and small vessels during vascular, cardiovascular, thoracic, neurosurgical and microsurgical procedures. The fine 1.0 mm tip enables precise grasping for vessel manipulation, suture placement, vessel retraction and controlled tissue approximation without crushing trauma.
Design & Configuration
The DeBakey pattern provides long, narrow jaws with an atraumatic contact surface that distributes pressure along the length of the jaw to minimize intimal or tissue injury. The 1.0 mm tip concentrates control for fine work, while the 24.0 cm shaft length gives reach in deeper operative fields and across broad exposure trays. This geometry is useful when visibility is limited or when delicate manipulation must be performed without compressive damage.
