Clinical Application
Designed for secure temporary occlusion of large central veins, this clamp is used to gain proximal and distal control of the inferior or superior vena cava and other large venous trunks during vascular, cardiothoracic, trauma, and transplant procedures. It facilitates haemorrhage control, vessel isolation for repair or anastomosis, and controlled exposure in deep operative fields where standard vascular clamps lack reach.
Design & Configuration
The long-shanked configuration provides extended reach into the thoracic or retroperitoneal cavities without excessive soft-tissue retraction, improving access to deep central veins. DeBakey-style longitudinal serrations distribute clamping pressure along the vessel length to reduce focal trauma to the intima, helping preserve vessel integrity during temporary occlusion. A positive locking handle secures the jaws in the closed position to maintain consistent occlusive pressure throughout the procedure.
