Clinical Application

Spheric burrs are rotary cutting instruments used to remove and contour mineralized tissue. The 5.0 mm spherical head is sized for controlled bulk removal, rounding of cortical edges, smoothing cavity walls and shaping bone surfaces during procedures such as craniotomy skull contouring, mastoid and temporal bone work in ENT, joint debridement and preparation in orthopedics, and maxillofacial sculpting. Used with a compatible high-speed surgical handpiece, the spherical geometry allows multi-directional contact for predictable, even material removal while reducing the tendency to dig in at a single point.
