Clinical Application
Designed for percutaneous skeletal fixation and provisional stabilization during orthopedic and trauma procedures. The trocar point geometry facilitates direct trans‑cortical penetration for pinning of small-to-medium bone segments in the hand, wrist, foot, ankle and select long-bone applications. Common uses include temporary fracture fixation, alignment control during reduction, external fixation pin placement and as a guide/pilot for cannulated implants where appropriate.
Design & Configuration
The trocar point is a three-sided cutting tip that provides efficient, controlled cortical entry with reduced tendency to bend or skid on cortical surfaces. At 2.5 x 60 mm the shaft diameter balances bending stiffness with minimal soft-tissue profile, while the 60 mm length accommodates most peripheral extremity applications without excess protrusion. The smooth, straight shaft permits straightforward insertion and withdrawal and is compatible with manual insertion techniques and standard K-wire holding/driving devices used in the operating room.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Kirschner wire (K-wire) trocar point pin
- Pattern: Trocar point (three-sided cutting tip)
- Size: 2.5 x 60 mm (diameter x length)
- Configuration: Solid, straight pin with smooth shaft

Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel to provide the torsional strength and corrosion resistance expected for orthopedic fixation pins. The trocar point is machined to a precise cutting geometry to ensure predictable entry and purchase in cortical bone. Reusable construction supports standard cleaning, decontamination and sterilization protocols used for reusable orthopedic instrumentation.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
