Clinical Application
This guide pin is used to establish and maintain an intramedullary pathway during long-bone fracture fixation. Inserted percutaneously or through a small entry portal at the proximal or distal metaphysis, the pin provides a central track to guide the placement of intramedullary nails, cannulated reamers, and locking instruments. Its 4.0 mm diameter and 60 cm length are intended to accommodate antegrade and retrograde techniques in femoral and tibial nailing and generally support procedures that require a stable, centrally placed guide during reaming and implant insertion. The pin is intended for use under fluoroscopic control to confirm placement and alignment.
Design & Configuration
The straight configuration provides a predictable trajectory for nail insertion and reaming, minimizing unintended deviation in the medullary canal. A 4.0 mm shaft balances axial stiffness—helpful for transmission of manual and mechanical forces—with a diameter small enough to be introduced percutaneously and to allow passage of cannulated instruments over the pin. The 60 cm length supplies sufficient reach for adult femoral and tibial nailing without the need for extension, reducing intraoperative handling and instrument swaps.

Material & Construction
Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel to provide the balance of rigidity and corrosion resistance required for guide instrumentation. The solid construction is intended to withstand the torsional and axial loads encountered during guide-wire manipulation and reaming. The instrument is designed for standard surgical cleaning, inspection, and steam sterilization between uses.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
