Clinical Application

This round bone curette is intended for controlled scraping and curettage of bone and fibrous tissue from confined or irregular bony surfaces. Its rounded bowl concentrates contact force for precise removal of loose cortical bone, sequestra, soft fibrous tissue and small osteophytes while preserving surrounding bone. Typical uses include orthopedics (small-bone and hand procedures), ENT and sinus work, oral-maxillofacial procedures, neurosurgical bone work in limited exposures, and podiatric bone debridement.

Design & Configuration

The rounded scoop geometry provides a broad contact surface that conforms to concave and irregular bone contours, improving tactile feedback and reducing the tendency to gouge. The length and working-end proportion permit access into shallow cavities and confined fields while maintaining control. The Fig.2 round configuration is optimized for shaping and removal rather than cutting, offering controlled, incremental curettage under direct visualization.
