Clinical Application
This double-ended sharp Volkmann curette is intended for precise scraping and controlled removal of soft tissue, granulation tissue, necrotic material, and small amounts of bone during operative procedures. It is commonly used for curettage and debridement in general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, plastic surgery, dermatologic procedures and minor operative suites where controlled tissue sampling or lesion removal is required. The sharp edges facilitate deliberate cutting and harvesting of tissue for biopsy or management of cysts and cavities.
Design & Configuration
The double-ended configuration provides two working tips on a single instrument, allowing quick transition between similarly shaped but oppositely oriented cutting cups without instrument exchange. The sharp cutting edges create efficient penetration and scraping action, improving tactile feedback and control during curettage. At 13 cm overall length the shaft provides reach into shallow to moderately deep cavities while maintaining manual control and visibility at the operative field.
