Clinical Application

Designed for controlled bone and soft-tissue curettage, the Volkmann scoop is used to remove loose cancellous bone, scrape lesion beds, shape or harvest graft sites, and debride small cortical defects. The Fig.1 scoop is the smallest Volkmann profile, providing a fine working surface for confined anatomy such as hand and wrist, small joint, ENT, or delicate orthopedic procedures where precision is required.

Design & Configuration

The scoop-shaped Volkmann tip concentrates scraping force at a rounded cutting edge, allowing efficient material removal while reducing the risk of inadvertent gouging. The rigid 27 cm shaft offers extended reach into deeper operative fields or narrow approaches without sacrificing tactile feedback, facilitating controlled curettage in both superficial and recessed sites. The small Fig.1 profile enhances visibility and maneuverability in tight spaces.
