Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for controlled bone scraping and debridement in procedures that require precise removal of small bone fragments or granulation tissue. The small Fig.0 scoop is suited for delicate work on cortical or cancellous surfaces and is commonly used in orthopedic procedures, spinal decompression, select neurosurgical exposures, and ENT cases where access to confined or deep cavities is required.
Design & Configuration
The Volkmann-style curette features a spoon-shaped cup that concentrates scraping force at the rim while protecting adjacent soft tissue. The 27 cm shaft provides extended reach into deep wounds or narrow surgical corridors, allowing the surgeon to work farther from the incision while maintaining tactile feedback. The Fig.0 size indicates a smaller scoop diameter useful for fine, controlled bone removal and for working in confined anatomical spaces.
