Clinical Application
This straight bone curette is intended for precise curettage and debridement of bone and soft tissue from bony cavities and surfaces. Its geometry is well suited for removal of granulation tissue, scraping sclerotic bone, shaping small bone margins, and harvesting small quantities of cancellous bone during orthopedic, ENT, cranial, and oral/maxillofacial procedures. The 16 cm length provides additional reach for deeper surgical fields while maintaining tactile control at the tip.
Design & Configuration
The straight shaft gives direct-line access to target areas where angled or curved instruments would complicate approach, enabling controlled axial force application during scraping and scooping motions. The Fig.6 pattern corresponds to a compact, spoon-shaped curette profile that concentrates scraping force at the cup edge for efficient tissue removal while preserving visibility of the working tip. This configuration supports fine, controlled curettage in confined or shallow cavities as well as along linear bone surfaces.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: Bone curette
- Pattern / model: USA Model Fig.6
- Configuration: straight
- Length: 16 cm
- Tip pattern: spoon-shaped curette cup
- Typical use: bone debridement, curettage, small graft harvesting
- Material: surgical-grade stainless steel
- Reusable: designed for repeated sterilization and reuse
Material & Construction
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance under repeated sterilization cycles. The curette cup is formed to provide a defined scraping edge while the straight shaft maintains rigidity for controlled force transmission. The instrument is designed for cleaning and autoclave sterilization as part of standard reusable instrument workflows.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
Comparable in form and function to equivalent instruments offered by major US medical suppliers.
