Clinical Application

Designed for controlled scraping and removal of soft or necrotic bone and fibrous tissue, this straight bone curette is used for curettage, debridement and harvesting of cancellous bone. Common applications include orthopedic procedures (small-joint and trauma cases), ENT and skull-base work where precise removal of bone or granulation tissue is required, neurosurgical bone work, and podiatric procedures. The Fig.4 tip profile provides a defined scraping surface for focused tissue removal while preserving surrounding structures.

Design & Configuration

The straight configuration provides direct-line access and predictable tactile feedback, making it suitable for confined or linear cavities where angulation is limited. At 16 cm overall length the instrument gives reach into deeper surgical sites while maintaining control at the tip. The Fig.4 spoon-shaped tip concentrates scraping force over a defined area to improve efficiency during curettage and graft harvesting, allowing the surgeon to sculpt bone surfaces or remove pathological tissue with precision.
