Clinical Application
This right-oriented bone curette is designed for scraping, debridement and selective removal of bone and soft fibrous tissue from confined anatomic sites. It is used to prepare graft beds, remove sclerotic bone, shape cortical or cancellous surfaces, and perform precise curettage during orthopedic, hand/foot, ENT, oral-maxillofacial and select neurosurgical procedures where a right-facing working edge gives better access.
Design & Configuration
The right-facing spoon/loop tip allows the surgeon to approach surfaces from the left side of an exposure while maintaining a clear line of sight and controlled hand position. The 16 cm overall length provides reach into deeper operative fields without excessive shaft length that can compromise tactile feedback. The Fig.4 pattern identifies the specific geometry of the working end and shaft alignment, delivering a balance between bite (scoop) and maneuverability for precise bone work.
