Clinical Application
This curved bone osteotome is intended for controlled cutting, splitting and contouring of cortical and cancellous bone during osteotomies and bone-shaping procedures. The 6 mm cutting width provides a narrow, focused blade for precise cortical scoring, wedge removal, or bone graft preparation. Typical applications include orthopedic and podiatric osteotomies, reconstructive procedures where bone contouring is required, and procedures that demand access around curved anatomy.
Design & Configuration
The curved shaft geometry allows the surgeon to work around convex or recessed surfaces and to approach bone surfaces at an oblique angle without excessive soft-tissue retraction. A chisel-style, beveled cutting edge concentrates force for efficient penetration and controlled bone separation. The 20 cm overall length gives additional reach for deeper surgical fields while maintaining tactile feedback and control. The instrument is suitable for hand use or controlled impaction with a mallet for precision osteotomy work.
