Clinical Application
Designed to perform controlled bone scraping and debridement, this long-shaft curette is intended for procedures that require reach and precision on bony surfaces. Common uses include removal of loose cancellous bone, curettage of osteophytes, preparation of bone surfaces for grafting or implant placement, and targeted debridement in orthopedic, spine, and maxillofacial procedures where a longer working length is required.
Design & Configuration
The elongated 24 cm shaft provides extended reach into deep or narrow operative fields while maintaining manual control. The Fig.4 tip is a concave/scoop-style curette geometry that facilitates atraumatic removal of bone fragments and soft bony tissue with a controlled scooping action. The angulation between shaft and tip improves line-of-sight and approach angle to subchondral or recessed areas, reducing the need for excessive instrument manipulation during delicate bone work.
