Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for precise periosteal elevation and limited rasping of cortical bone. The narrow 6 mm working edge is intended for controlled subperiosteal dissection in confined surgical fields such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, dental implant and extraction sites, ENT procedures, and select orthopedic or trauma exposures where localized bone contouring or periosteal reflection is required.
Design & Configuration
The raspatory combines a slim working blade with a serrated back surface. The 6 mm width facilitates access between teeth, along alveolar ridges, and around small bony prominences. Serrations on the back provide mechanical purchase for scraping or rasping motions while allowing the forward edge to be used for atraumatic periosteal elevation. The 17 cm overall length offers reach into deeper pockets while keeping the handle clear of the operative field for controlled hand positioning.
