Clinical Application
This instrument is designed for controlled cutting and resection of torn meniscal tissue during knee procedures. Its Neff meniscotome pattern is used to perform partial meniscectomy and precise trimming of unstable meniscal flaps through arthroscopic portals or limited open approaches. The left orientation of the cutting tip facilitates access and line-of-cut control when approaching tissue on the corresponding side of the joint.
Design & Configuration
The 22 cm shaft length provides the reach necessary for intra-articular work in the knee while keeping the working profile low for manipulation through standard arthroscopy portals. A left-oriented cutting tip gives the surgeon directional control for shaving or slicing meniscal tissue with accuracy; orientation is selected to match the side of the lesion and the chosen portal placement. The slim shaft and focused tip geometry minimize collateral tissue displacement and allow targeted resection in confined joint spaces.
