Clinical Application

Designed for controlled manual rasping of cortical bone, this instrument is used to smooth and contour bone edges after osteotomy, bony resection, or graft harvest. It is applicable in orthopedic, trauma, maxillofacial, ENT and reconstructive procedures where removal of sharp irregularities and precise shaping of bone is required to facilitate fixation, implant seating, or soft-tissue closure. Manual file action preserves tactile feedback for fine adjustments that powered burrs may remove too aggressively.

Design & Configuration

The D/E configuration provides two working ends to change orientation quickly without instrument exchange, improving efficiency in confined fields. The regular-cut tooth pattern offers a moderate rate of material removal for controlled abrading while maintaining tactile feedback. An overall length of 18 cm gives improved reach into deeper or narrow operative sites while maintaining the rigidity needed for predictable hand control during contouring.
