Clinical Application
This periosteal raspatory is intended for controlled elevation of periosteum and reflection of soft tissues, with the rasping surface used for light contouring and scraping of bone surfaces. The 4 mm blade width provides precise access for work on small bones and confined surgical fields commonly encountered in craniofacial, maxillofacial, ENT, dental and select orthopedic procedures. It is useful for initial periosteal release, localized debridement of cortical irregularities and preparing small bone surfaces prior to fixation or graft placement.
Design & Configuration
The narrow 4 mm raspatory blade concentrates scraping force for accurate, localized work while minimizing disruption to adjacent soft tissues. A 17 cm overall length balances reach into deeper operative sites with fine tactile control at the tip, allowing surgeons to maintain visibility and precision in narrow operative corridors. The raspatory surface is designed to remove small amounts of cortical material and to facilitate periosteal elevation without the bulk of larger bone instruments.
