Clinical Application
This pediatric lead hand splint is used to support, position and stabilize the hand and individual digits during pediatric hand surgery, fracture reduction, K-wire placement, tendon repairs and wound exposure. Its smaller, child-sized geometry allows more precise alignment of phalanges and decreased bulk around the surgical field, improving access for microsurgical and reconstructive procedures. The radiopaque core provides a visible reference under intraoperative fluoroscopy to confirm digit alignment and hardware placement without adding separate reference tools.
Design & Configuration
The splint is formed in a hand-shaped, malleable configuration so the surgeon or scrub tech can contour it to the child’s palm and digit positions. Contouring capability enables sustained traction, gradual flexion/extension positioning, or custom digit separation. The compact pediatric profile reduces interference with instrumentation and magnification optics, while the radiopaque core maintains shape once positioned for predictable stabilization during the procedure.
Instrument Specifications
- Instrument type: pediatric hand positioning splint
- Model: Child (pediatric sizing)
- Configuration: malleable, hand-shaped splint for individual digit support
- Typical surgical use: pediatric hand and finger procedures; intraoperative fluoroscopic reference and stabilization
- Material: radiopaque lead core (malleable)

Material & Construction
The device contains a malleable lead core that provides radiopacity and controllable shaping to maintain desired positioning of the hand and digits. The lead core is selected to balance conformability with sufficient stiffness to retain contour during surgery. The splint is intended for repeated clinical use; follow your facility’s cleaning and decontamination protocols and use a sterile drape or barrier between the device and the sterile field as required.
Quality & Compliance
Manufactured by FDA-registered OEM facilities and produced under strict quality control standards.
Brand Comparison
