Clinical Application
Designed to provide controlled subperiosteal dissection and elevation, this Lambotte-style periosteal elevator is used to reflect periosteum and soft tissue from bone surfaces, aid in fracture reduction, prepare bone surfaces for grafting, and assist with limited subperiosteal exposure in orthopedics, trauma, hand surgery, and maxillofacial procedures. The 20 mm blade width offers a balance between surface coverage and fine control for manipulating periosteum on medium-sized bones.
Design & Configuration
The broad, spatulated blade geometry distributes lifting force across a wider area of periosteum, reducing the risk of localized tearing while allowing effective elevation. The 21 cm overall length provides additional reach for deeper exposures and improved leverage when reflecting soft tissues from cortical surfaces. The straight shaft and flat blade deliver tactile feedback to the operator, enabling precise subperiosteal dissection and controlled scraping or smoothing of bone surfaces when required.
