Clinical Application
Designed to initiate and guide pilot holes in cortical and cancellous bone, this large drill point provides a stable entry and efficient cutting during orthopedic, trauma, spine and implant procedures. Its geometry helps reduce bit walking at the bone surface and allows controlled advancement for placement of screws, pins or implant pilot holes.
Design & Configuration
The tapered, conical cutting tip concentrates cutting forces at the leading edge to establish a precise entry point and minimize lateral skiving. A larger-diameter point increases initial stability on the bone surface, which is beneficial when working on hard cortical bone or in locations with limited visual access. The straight shank configuration is intended for use with standard surgical drill handpieces or drivers that accept straight shanks.
