Clinical Application
Designed to deliver controlled percussive force to hand instruments such as osteotomes, chisels and bone taps, this Doyen pattern bone mallet is used where precise, low-to-moderate impaction is required. Typical settings include orthopedic and podiatric procedures, oral and maxillofacial operations, hand and trauma surgery, and any case requiring controlled bone shaping, fragment reduction or implant seating with manual instruments.
Design & Configuration
The Doyen geometry concentrates mass in a compact head with two striking surfaces to provide predictable, repeatable blows while maximizing tactile feedback. The relatively short handle and balanced head allow the surgeon to modulate force easily for delicate bone work, reducing the risk of unintended splintering or excessive impact on adjacent structures. Symmetrical striking faces permit use from either side without reorientation.
