Clinical Application
Designed for controlled scraping and removal of bone and adherent soft tissue in confined or anatomically deep spaces. Commonly used for curettage of bony lesions, contouring cortical surfaces, debridement around implants or osteotomies, and accessing recesses in ENT, cranial, spinal, maxillofacial and select orthopedic procedures where precision bone removal is required.
Design & Configuration
The Bruns pattern features a scoop-shaped curette geometry that permits focused, tactile scraping and scooping of bone. The 23 cm overall length provides extended reach into deep surgical fields while the handle offers manual control for delicate retrieval and contouring. Fig.5 denotes the specific Bruns blade geometry intended for targeted work in narrow or recessed anatomy where a rounded, concave cutting surface improves seating against bone.
